Stale and Tenuous

Chief Ricky Ramie offered a controlled substance without a prescription to his boss in 2018.
Today Chief Ramie arrested James Finch’s wife for the same charge, according to the booking documents.
But it’s worse than that. The booking document is incorrect.
She was actually arrested for having fingerprints on a cap of a vial that had residue of cocaine in somebody else’s security safe in somebody else’s home that she hadn’t been to in over a year.
As it happens, the owner of the home was charged for cocaine possession of the exact same residue in the exact same security safe in the exact same home three months ago.
Chief Ramie is furious at Finch for putting him on the witness stand Monday in federal court. It has led to Commissioner Judy Tinder calling for his resignation.
But Chief Ramie is flexing tonight after arresting Finch’s wife on a stale and tenuous charge at the very time Chief Judge Mark Walker is considering whether Finch has been the target if vindictive investigations and prosecution.
